Ram says it will use an 800-volt architecture that allows quick DC fast-charging rates. The REV will be able to tow as much as 14,000 pounds depending on options. Two battery packs will be offered, the larger good for up to 500 miles of driving according to Ram. The REV is being shown initially as a crew-cab model with a short bed. While the concept Ram EV was a wildly futuristic truck with several outlandish features, the production version looks similar to the gas-powered version. Like its future EV competitors, the Ram 1500 REV retains a rugged body-on-frame chassis and is pinstriped with enough LED lighting to cover a short runway. The REV is a battery-powered version of the gas-powered Ram 1500. Following the excitement of already available full-size EV pickups such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T, the REV promises both big range and impressive tow capability. The upcoming fully electric 20 REV pickup truck grabs life by the cord instead of the horns.
